Hunters' Stew

This is a meal that is good for the first night as you can make it at home, freeze it, and it helps with the cooling of sodas, or whatever, in your cooler and is defrosted by the night time allowing you time to set up and not have to worry about getting something fixed to eat.

INGREDIENTS:

1 pound hamburger [Beef or Venison]
2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 large carrots, cleaned and slic

PREPARATION:

  • In a large coffee can, put a little olive oil or oil of some kind in the bottom and place potatoes, then carrots, then onions, and seasoning (I use Tony Chachere's). Then place hamburger on top and season again.
  • Put foil on top and freeze, if you're making it ahead of time. At the campsite, put the can in the fire coals or close to the fire. Cook for 45 minutes, mix it all up and it is ready.
  • Servings: 3 - 4
