Pepper Steak in a Pouch
A very good steak dinner, goes good with rice.
INGREDIENTS:
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. beef round steak, [Tenderized]
1 pkg. frozen English peas or 1 can of English peas drained
4 med. carrots
4 med. potatoes
1 large green bell pepper
1 env. onion soup mix
PREPARATION:
- Rinse peas under running cold water to separate; drain.
- Tear off 4 pieces heavy-duty aluminum foil, each 18 x 15 inches. Place 1 carrot, thinly sliced, 1 potato cut into quarters and cut round steak into 4 pieces and place 1 steak on center of each piece of foil or pouch.
- Mix onion soup mix with right amount of water to make it soupy, then stir the soup together with peas and diced green peppers; spoon this mixture over steaks and veggies.
- Place on coals or grill [grill 5" above coals], cook for about 40-50 minutes until tender, turning regulary.
- Servings: 4

- Seasoned Salt or regular table salt
- 1 roll of heavy foil or foil pouches. [one pouch per scout]
For twelve scouts
- 6 lbs. beef round steak, [Tenderized]
- 3 pkg. frozen English peas or 1 can of English peas
- 3 env. dry onion soup mix
- 3 large green bell pepper
- Seasoned Salt or regular table salt
- 1 roll of heavy foil or foil pouches. [one pouch per scout]
