Foil-Wrapped Grilled Onions

If you like grilled onions, than this recipe is for you.

INGREDIENTS:
2 large onions
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
salt and pepper to taste

PREPARATION:

  • Peel onions. Slice tops and bottoms off onions and cut an X halfway through each.
  • Brush onions with Worcestershire sauce.
  • Dot with butter or margarine and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Bundle-wrap each onion in heavy-duty aluminum foil.
  • Place bundles in hot coals and roast 45 to 60 minutes or cook in a covered grill over medium, indirect heat for 50 minutes, opening packet during last 5 minutes.
  • Halve onions and serve.

  • Servings: 4
    Preparation time: 45 to 60 minutes

For Twelve scouts

  • 6 large onions
  • Small bottle of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 stick of butter
  • pepper
