Jay Fawcett
Jay Fawcett is a former United States Air Force officer, currently running for Congress in Colorado's 5th congressional district.[1]
Fawcett is an Eagle Scout, and a graduate of both the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) and Cornell University's Johnson School, where he earned an MBA degree. During a career in the Air Force, Fawcett taught at the USAFA and served in the 1991 Gulf War, where he earned a Bronze Star Medal. After working as a defense contractor, he returned to the military to work as a consultant at United States Northern Command in Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado Springs.
Fawcett is a candidate for Colorado's 5th Congressional District. The seat's current representative, Joel Hefley, is expected to retire after serving 10 consecutive terms in Congress. One of Fawcett's priorities is to "get the National Guard back to its mission as state militia focused on Homeland Defense and not a global fire brigade."
